Celebrate New Beginnings at Church of the Highlands This Easter Season
The Church of the Highlands, a renowned place of worship in Birmingham, Alabama, is inviting families and individuals to join their Easter celebrations across 26 campuses in Alabama and Georgia. From Good Friday on April 18 to Easter Sunday on April 20, the church will host a series of services that embody a message of hope, renewal, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A Message of Hope
Lead Pastor Mark Pettus encourages everyone, whether newcomers or seasoned attendees, to experience the transformative power of Easter. This season is not just about tradition; it’s a chance for every individual to witness God’s love, build connections within the community, and embrace the possibilities of new beginnings in their lives.
"Easter serves as a powerful reminder that regardless of our struggles, Jesus offers us a path to a fresh start and purpose," Pettus explains.
Worship and Family Activities
Attendees can look forward to engaging worship experiences, featuring a life-affirming message from Founding Pastor Chris Hodges. Across all Highlands campuses, there will be 120 Easter services, ensuring there’s a time and space that suits everyone’s needs. Each service guarantees a consistent experience, fostering a welcoming environment.
For families with young children, ages six weeks to fifth grade, Highlands Kids offers a safe and enjoyable Easter program. Designed with fun and learning in mind, the kids' program will include age-appropriate games, Bible stories, and interactive activities, allowing them to understand the essence of Easter in relatable ways. Parents can pre-register their children online for a seamless check-in experience. More details are accessible on the church's website.
Opelika Campus Grand Opening
This year’s Easter is particularly special for the Opelika campus, which will celebrate the grand opening of its new facility on Saturday, April 13. This modern building accommodates up to 800 attendees and features spaces for children's programs, youth activities, small group meetings, and local outreach initiatives.
Reflecting on the Season
As members of the Church of the Highlands gather for Easter services, they reflect on the broader impact of Jesus’ resurrection, which symbolizes hope, peace, and purpose in life. This festive occasion encourages everyone to contemplate what God is accomplishing in their lives and the lives of those around them.
