New 12-Week Mini-MBA Program Launches for Working Professionals

A New Era in Professional Education

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Abilitie, TED, and St. Edward's University have introduced a global 12-week mini-MBA program tailored for working professionals. This innovative course, designed to be completed part-time, integrates online learning with a culminating in-person weekend in a notable business hub. With a focus on developing crucial business skills relevant to today's AI-driven environment, the program is both practical and academically robust.

Originally launched as the Invited MBA in 2019, this course combines engaging TED content, immersive business simulations, and live discussions led by experienced faculty. Participants will not only broaden their knowledge but also earn a professional education certificate from St. Edward's University, a recognized institution renowned for its commitment to academic excellence.

Darby Coleman, the senior director of TED@Work, emphasized the program's emphasis on real-world applicability: "The 12-Week MBA incorporates powerful TED ideas into the daily responsibilities faced by leaders, enabling them to enhance their problem-solving skills and overall leadership presence."

With a staggering statistic showing that over 80% of managers globally lack an advanced business degree, organizations are increasingly turning to short MBA formats to fill this leadership gap. This 12-week program is designed to impart vital business acumen and people management skills, crucial for leadership development in today's competitive marketplace.

"Today's leaders require more than just theoretical knowledge. They need to cultivate practical business judgment, and this program's interactive format is crucial for that development," added Bjorn Billhardt, CEO of Abilitie. To achieve this, participants will engage in live online sessions three days a week, tackling real business challenges through team-based simulations.

The course curriculum focuses on vital areas such as business finance, strategic thinking, resource management, and making informed decisions in fast-paced environments. This hands-on approach prepares participants to navigate the complexities of modern business landscapes effectively.

Marianne Ward-Peradoza, the provost of St. Edward's University, recognized the program's potential to adapt to the needs of today's professionals: "In a world where flexibility and high-impact learning are paramount, we are dedicated to creating opportunities that empower individuals to enhance their skill sets and stay competitive in their fields."

To maintain a personalized and interactive learning environment, the program restricts class sizes to 40 participants per section and 200 students per cohort. The experience will culminate in an in-person weekend held in either Berlin or Dubai, with accommodation and meals included in the tuition of $4,500. Applications for the 2026 fall cohort are currently being accepted, and a variety of scholarships are available.

Additionally, organizations interested in enhancing their workforce can opt for closed-cohort options specifically designed for their employees.
