Get Ready for the 13th PIST6 MTB Challenge in Makuhari!



The 13th PIST6 Presents MTB Challenge is set to take place on June 27, 2026, in the beautiful Makuhari Seaside Park located in Chiba City. This exciting event, organized by the Japan Cycle Sports Promotion Association (JCSPA), aims to bring together mountain biking enthusiasts of all skill levels for a fun-filled day of competition and camaraderie.

Event Overview


This year's challenge is particularly accessible, being conveniently located near the heart of the city. Participants can look forward to a newly revamped course that includes a grassy area, enhancing the thrill of the long course experience. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned rider, several categories ranging from beginner-friendly to advanced options make this event inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

Five different race categories will be available, allowing participants to choose based on their stamina and experience. Among the options are the MTB Endurance Race and XCC, each designed to accommodate various riding styles. To encourage young riders, races for preschool children featuring balance bikes will also take place, perfect for kids looking to experience their first race.

New Features This Year


This year, the Enjoy Race 45 category introduces a new Family Class, allowing families to enjoy the race together. The XCC race will feature a Pair Class, where participants can compete in teams, combining their times for final rankings. This collaborative aspect encourages family and friends to participate together, promoting community spirit and shared experiences.

Participants will feel the unique thrill of racing on dirt and grass trails, immersing themselves in the energetic atmosphere of mountain biking. We can't wait to see you there!

Race Categories


  • - Enjoy Race 45 (45-Minute MTB Endurance Race): Compete for laps completed in 45 minutes. You can participate solo, in pairs, or as a family. Fun and accessible for those wanting to race on an MTB course. Note: Cyclocross bikes are allowed.

  • - Challenge Race 60 (60-Minute MTB Endurance Race): Utilizing a more technical course, this challenge is for those who want to push their limits beyond the 45-minute race.

  • - XCC (Cross-Country Short Track): This official event requires participants to complete a set number of laps within a time limit, with the new Pair Class allowing for teamwork. Note: Depending on participant numbers, classes may combine for the race.

  • - Preschool Race: A fun introduction to racing for little ones using bikes without training wheels.

  • - Kick Bike Race: Special races for kids using kick bikes, with awards for completion.

Participation Fees


  • - Enjoy Race 45: 3,500 yen (solo), 4,000 yen (pair), 6,000 yen (family)
  • - Challenge Race 60: 4,000 yen
  • - XCC: 2,500 yen (solo), 3,000 yen (pair)
  • - Preschool Race: 500 yen (700 yen day of)
  • - Kick Bike Race: 500 yen (700 yen day of)
