Doosan Robotics Partners with Kwangjin Group for Innovative Manufacturing Solutions

In a significant leap for the manufacturing sector, Doosan Robotics has announced its strategic partnership with Kwangjin Group, a renowned global automotive components manufacturer. The memorandum of understanding signed on March 9, 2026, at Bundang Doosan Tower in Seongnam, South Korea, marks the beginning of an extensive collaboration aimed at automating manufacturing processes and enhancing quality competitiveness.

Kwangjin Group specializes in key automotive door system components and has production facilities across major markets including the United States, Mexico, India, and Vietnam. Their esteemed clientele encompasses prominent automakers such as General Motors, Ford, and Volkswagen. With the integration of Doosan Robotics' innovative solutions into various stages of production—from riveting to assembly and inspection—Kwangjin can significantly elevate their manufacturing efficiency.

Under the current agreement, more than 100 advanced manufacturing robots will be delivered to Kwangjin Group's domestic and international plants by 2027. This extensive order not only affirms Doosan Robotics' technological prowess but also reinforces its reliability within the global automotive supply chain. Notably, the deployment of these robots led to an impressive achievement: a zero-defect rate in production, which was instrumental in securing this large-scale follow-up order.

The advantages of Doosan Robotics' solutions are numerous. They can be implemented seamlessly into existing factory layouts without necessitating costly modifications. These robots are designed with high safety standards and precision capability, ensuring effective collaboration between human workers and robotic systems. By mitigating variations in quality caused by differing operator skills, these solutions ensure consistent product quality and substantial defect reduction. Consequently, manufacturers can expect shorter production cycle times, boosted productivity, and enhanced operational stability.

Building upon this partnership, both companies are looking to expand their collaboration further. This includes the joint development of customized robot solutions suited to various component manufacturing processes. Furthermore, a specialized task force will be established to devise phased implementation plans and optimize production environments, ensuring smooth robot integration across Kwangjin Group’s facilities.

Inwon Park, CEO of Doosan Robotics, expressed his enthusiasm about the agreement, stating that it underlines the trust placed in their robotic solutions, particularly following the landmark zero-defect achievement. He emphasized the intention to ensure successful deployments within Kwangjin Group’s operations and to fortify Doosan’s presence in the global automation market through continued collaboration.

This partnership comes on the heels of Doosan Robotics winning the Best of Innovation award in the AI category at CES 2026 for its AI Sanding solution, highlighting the company’s commitment to pioneering advanced robotic solutions. As Doosan Robotics broadens its portfolio to include safe, high-efficiency AI robots, they remain dedicated to leading the next wave of innovation in the manufacturing segment.
