Innovative Projects Shaping the Future at 100BANCH's GARAGE Program

In a world constantly evolving with new technologies and ideas, the GARAGE Program at 100BANCH continues to pave the way for innovative projects aimed at enriching the future. Launched under the concept of creating a laboratory for experiments that will enhance the world of tomorrow, the 103rd cohort has welcomed four groundbreaking projects that promise to redefine everyday experiences. Each project highlights a unique vision for a better future, driven by the energy and creativity of young leaders under 35.

1. Dry Fun
This project tackles the challenge of hair drying in an astonishing 15 seconds. In our busy lives, taking 15 minutes to dry hair can feel like a tedious chore. Dry Fun aims to revolutionize this daily routine by developing a dryer that drastically reduces the drying time, making it not just a time-saving device but also a source of joy and convenience. The team is currently engaged in an intensive R&D phase to establish the optimal design that will bring this incredible innovation to life. Their mission is to replace the mundane with delight, spreading happiness through the unexpected.

2. be♭
The be♭ project is dedicated to breaking down barriers to communication, essentially melting the 'ice' that often stands between people. In our increasingly digital and connected world, while technology allows us to connect more easily, the quality of our interactions can often lack depth. The be♭ team is focused on creating engaging ice-breaking toys and events to foster genuine connection through fun. Their MelTOY series seeks to provide interactive experiences that encourage both laughter and bonding among individuals.

3. POTƐNTIA.
Spotlighting the untapped potential of the cashew apple in Ghana, POTƐNTIA is aiming to address a staggering 90% waste rate of this nutrient-rich fruit. By transforming cashew apples into a shelf-stable juice, this project not only provides farmers with a secondary income stream and cultivates pride in their produce but also enables consumers to make healthier choices that contribute to societal good. With plans to create product samples and conduct demand assessments leading up to a launch in April 2026, this project represents a unique intersection of agriculture and sustainability.

4. KITSUAI
KITSUAI is spearheading a unique cultural experience called “kitsuai”, aiming to blend sensory enjoyment with the age-old tradition of indigo dyeing. Participants will engage with the color and aroma of indigo through a creative space designed with smoking shisha and interactive dialogue. This innovative venture seeks to connect individuals with their cultural heritage in an immersive way, attracting those who may not previously have had an interest in traditional crafts. KITSUAI envisions a future where indigo is not only preserved but celebrated as a living tradition.

As part of the GARAGE Program, each team receives support from mentors and access to a vibrant community, allowing them to experiment freely and pursue their goals. With ongoing applications for the next cohort, this thriving ecosystem is sure to bring forth even more groundbreaking ideas and solutions.

For those interested in participating, the deadline for the 105th cohort applications is February 23, 2024.
