Bulat Utemuratov Foundation Joins Global Autism Coalition

On September 29, 2025, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation made a significant move by joining the newly established Global Autism Advocacy Coalition at the United Nations headquarters in New York. This coalition, supported by key organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, Autism Speaks, and the Qatar Foundation, aims to bring together experts, policymakers, and civil society leaders to strengthen inclusion and improve the quality of life for individuals with autism worldwide.

The coalition's mission is to unify efforts from governments, international organizations, and NGOs to promote rights, enhance research, improve political coordination, and strengthen advocacy for autism issues. The launch event saw participation from health ministers from various countries and high-ranking officials from prominent health and education organizations, showcasing a global commitment to addressing autism issues.

The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation's involvement highlights Kazakhstan's increasing contributions to global health and integration initiatives. The foundation has a long-standing dedication to supporting children with autism and their families across Kazakhstan through its national program, 'Autism: A World for All,' which has been operational for over a decade.

In addition to joining the coalition, the foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This partnership aims to support migrant families raising children with autism, develop inclusive educational and health programs, and promote international knowledge exchange on support services for autistic individuals. Ainur Karbozova, the CEO of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating, "Our participation in the Global Autism Advocacy Coalition and partnership with the IOM will allow us to integrate Kazakhstan's experiences into the international dialogue and accelerate the creation of a more inclusive and equitable society around the world."

Since 2015, the foundation has established 13 autism centers in 12 cities across Kazakhstan under its Asyl Miras program. These centers operate according to international standards, offering free behavioral programs based on evidence-based methods, including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). To date, over 25,000 children and families have received support from these initiatives.

By joining international platforms like the Global Autism Advocacy Coalition and fostering new partnerships with global institutions, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation is poised to strengthen its role in promoting autism advocacy and disseminating best practices on an international level. The foundation's commitment not only enhances the visibility of autism issues but also contributes to a global dialogue about inclusivity and rights for individuals with autism, marking a significant step forward in the push for a more integrated global community.
