Sightron Japan, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, will unveil the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX, a cutting-edge prime focus astrograph, on
June 20, 2025. This telescope represents a significant advancement in astrophotography tools, making it easier for both amateurs and professionals to capture stunning images of celestial objects.
Product Overview
- - Brand: Sky-Watcher
- - Model Name: HAC125DX
- - Retail Price: ¥112,500 (excluding tax) / ¥123,750 (including tax)
- - Release Date: June 20, 2025
Key Features
The HAC125DX boasts a
125mm aperture, a
250mm focal length, and an impressive focal ratio of
f/2, which makes it an exceptional tool for astrophotography. One of its standout features is the
rear focus mechanism, allowing for easy adjustment of the primary mirror position, making focusing significantly more straightforward compared to its predecessor, the HAC125.
Enhanced Usability
Designed specifically for astrophotography, the HAC125DX's compact design allows it to be operated easily with small mounts. The f/2 aperture allows for reduced exposure times, enabling photographers to capture faint celestial bodies even without auto-guiding equipment. This feature makes it particularly suitable for real-time observation of brighter nebulae, where users can view images live on-screen without the need for stacking images.
The telescope has an
image circle of approximately 16mm and is compatible with 1-inch sensors such as the IMX533 and IMX585. Three types of CMOS camera adapters are included: a
31.7mm sleeve, M42 male thread, and M42 female thread, accommodating a range of cameras.
Convenience Features
The rear end of the HAC125DX features a large, easily operable focus ring that makes precise focusing hassle-free. While it does not have a stopper, it does incorporate a
ventilator to help regulate the internal temperature of the tube. The primary mirror is also equipped with an optical axis adjustment mechanism, ensuring that users can achieve optimal alignment.
The lens hood, approximately
110mm in length, is detachable, allowing for easy camera attachment and removal. It also has an opening for camera cables, enhancing convenience during setup and use.
Included with the telescope are a
tube ring and a narrow-type dovetail bar (approximately 45mm), making it compatible with many commercial mounts. Additionally, two mounts are provided for attaching finderscopes and other accessories, making it versatile for various viewing needs.
The overall weight of the HAC125DX is about
4.3 kg, including the tube band and dovetail bar, ensuring it's light enough to be used with smaller mounts.
