During this event, attendees were introduced to an emblematic energy storage project located in Malko Tarnovo. This project, characterized by Sigenergy's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), exemplifies the technology's scalability and real-world impact. Developed in collaboration with Bulgaria's leading solar company, Trakia MT Ltd., the installation features 90 hybrid inverters and utilizes Sigenergy's modular SigenStack storage solution.

Sigenergy's SigenStack presents a truly modular approach to energy storage, moving away from bulky container systems to stackable 12 kWh battery packs. Designed for easy installation, the system’s configuration eliminates the complexity of wiring, as it uses ready-to-plug connectors, making the entire setup process straightforward. This innovative design allowed the complete 20 MWh system to be installed in merely ten days, with total operational capability achieved in just two days.

Sigenergy's BESS solutions set new safety benchmarks for energy storage systems. Central to this innovation is the SigenStack system, meticulously designed with safety layers. Each 12 kWh battery pack incorporates six protective measures, including temperature sensors, internal fire extinguishing units, aerogel insulation, decompression valves, heat-resistant insulating pads, and smoke detectors. This advanced setup allows for early detection of thermal leaks, triggering immediate localized responses.
In contrast to conventional cabinet-style systems that lack compartmentalization, SigenStack significantly enhances operational reliability and safety by isolating incidents at the module level. Additionally, its advanced inverter platform features ultra-fast backflow protection and long-range Arc Fault Circuit Interruption (AFCI), which can detect faults from up to 500 meters away.
Resilience and Maintenance-Free Operation
Thanks to its robust safety design and modular architecture, the SigenStack allows for autonomous operation round the clock. With an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance, it guarantees reliable performance under various environmental conditions. Conventional cabinet systems typically contain more vulnerable components, necessitating monthly inspections and regular part replacements. In stark contrast, Sigenergy's monitoring platform, integrated with cloud technology, provides real-time system status updates, performance metrics, and alerts, significantly reducing on-site inspection needs.
Moreover, individual faulty battery packs can be replaced within two hours without requiring a full system diagnosis or technician involvement, ensuring minimal downtime and simplifying logistics for spare parts.
