Dahua Technology Unveils Next-Generation Solutions for Smart Cities at SCEWC 2025

Dahua Technology Unveils Next-Generation Smart City Solutions

Dahua Technology, a global leader in AIoT solutions powered by video technology, recently presented its latest innovations aimed at enhancing smart cities during the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2025 held in Barcelona. With the theme, "Together for a Sustainable Future," Dahua showcased how its AI models and technologies can contribute to the creation of safer, more efficient, and sustainable urban environments.

Pioneering Innovations for Urban Safety and Sustainability

This year’s exhibition emphasized comprehensive solutions related to urban safety, mobility, city management, and environmental protection. By demonstrating how intelligence and sustainability can advance the functioning of modern cities, Dahua is pushing the envelope on how urban living can improve through technological enhancements.

One notable highlight was the introduction of the large-scale AI models known as Xinghan. These models integrate visual, multimodal, and linguistic intelligence, allowing municipal systems to perceive, analyze, and respond to complex urban scenarios autonomously. By facilitating smarter decision-making across areas like public safety, traffic management, and environmental monitoring, Xinghan transforms city operations from passive oversight to proactive, adaptive management.

For instance, Dahua’s urban security solution integrates cameras, radars, and IoT sensors into one operational center, enabling real-time monitoring and swift emergency response. This integration not only provides authorities with a holistic view of city operations—ranging from public safety metrics to environmental indicators—but also utilizes data-driven analytics for better management and coordination.

To tackle traffic congestion and enhance roadway efficiency, Dahua unveiled its urban traffic management system, which features dynamic signal control, AI-driven incident detection, and advanced speed monitoring technologies. With its flagship device, Spotter Ultra, the company can monitor up to eight lanes of traffic without additional gantries, lowering infrastructure costs while improving accuracy and coverage.

To advocate for greener mobility, Dahua introduced intelligent bus and fleet systems equipped with active safety features, blind spot detection, and fuel consumption monitoring. These solutions not only adhere to EU safety standards but also support cleaner and smarter public transportation.

Dahua also presented its City Governance Solution, integrating multiple modules such as urban management, crisis response, and environmental monitoring into a unified network. By utilizing AI-assisted text-image retrieval and interaction with large language models, urban operators can efficiently search for information and coordinate activities, enhancing response times and service quality for residents.

Another exciting offering was Dahua’s Nature Protection Solution, which employs AI, IoT, and drone sensors to prevent wildfires and safeguard biodiversity. By combining thermal imaging with intelligent analysis, it enables early threat detection and precise command issuance during emergencies, contributing to sustainable ecological management.

Emphasizing Empathy in Urban Digitization

During a panel focused on technology for the public sector (GovTech) and next-generation AI, John Li, the General Manager for Public Sector Cooperation at Dahua Technology, emphasized, "The digitization of cities should be geared towards providing better services for residents. At Dahua, we design each solution with empathy, focusing on the real needs of people, not just technical specifications."

Max Huang, responsible for overseeing projects with the public sector or government institutions, added, "By leveraging large-scale AI models like Xinghan, urban operators can gain deeper understandings of their cities, making them truly safer, more efficient, and sustainable."

Dahua is committed to collaborating with global partners to accelerate digital transformation and build smarter, safer, and more resident-friendly cities of the future.
