Telkomsel Expands 5G Network in Greater Jakarta Using Hyper AI for Enhanced Connectivity During Holidays
Telkomsel's 5G Network Expansion
Telkomsel, Indonesia's leading digital telecommunications provider, is significantly expanding its 5G network, branded Hyper 5G, across the Greater Jakarta area in celebration of the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivities. In collaboration with Huawei, this initiative aims to deliver an enhanced digital experience during this special season of connectivity, uniting families and communities.
Comprehensive Coverage Across Jakarta
The Hyper 5G network now covers key routes in and around Jakarta, including Sukarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma airports, and critical business and governmental areas from Pondok Indah to the National Monument. With plans in place for systematic expansion throughout Indonesia, Telkomsel aims to increase digital service access and user engagement in an increasingly tech-savvy society.
Since its commercial launch in 2021, Hyper 5G has emerged as the most advanced and extensive network in Indonesia. As of now, more than 1,400 5G base stations are operational in 56 regions, promoting technological progress and assisting in the nation's digital transformation.
Indra Mardiatna, Chief Technology Officer of Telkomsel, highlighted the significance of this advancement: "Being a heartbeat of economic activity, this area sees a remarkable penetration rate of 5G smartphones and a surge in demand for swift data. Hyper 5G doesn't just promise faster connections; it acts as a catalyst for societal and technological evolution, aligning with Indonesia’s vision for 2045."
Integration of Hyper AI Technology
In addition to its network expansion, Telkomsel is integrating Hyper AI—an advanced artificial intelligence solution—to modernize its service offerings. This technology enhances operational efficiency, enabling swift responses to network disruptions and facilitating automated network management.
Indra mentions, "Leveraging Hyper AI allows us to offer optimal service quality across various situations, particularly during peak holiday moments. Our AI-driven virtual assistants, like Veronika for consumers and Ted for businesses, deliver instantaneous help, ensuring efficient service in the 5G era."
Optimizing Digital Customer Experience
During the Christmas and New Year's celebrations, Telkomsel anticipates a 14.8% increase in data traffic, with a total expected payload of around 1,981 petabytes. The company is meticulously optimizing both 4G/LTE and 5G infrastructures to ensure seamless access to services during high-demand times.
"We aim to spread optimism and joy throughout the community, offering exceptional connectivity and service innovations so every customer can enjoy these festive moments with ease and happiness," Indra concluded.
Telkomsel’s commitment to customer satisfaction is also reflected in its recent accolades, having achieved the titles for the fastest mobile 5G download speed and lowest 5G latency in Indonesia according to Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence.
