Idaho's Nuclear Tech Hub Receives Major Funding

In a significant development for nuclear energy, the Idaho Advanced Energy Consortium (IAEC) has received an impressive funding boost from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA). With a grant of $31 million, the initiative is designed to advance the Intermountain-west Nuclear Energy Corridor (INEC) Tech Hub. This funding, combined with additional contributions from over 45 stakeholder partners, brings the total investment to more than $40 million for the Idaho-Wyoming region.

Over the next five years, the INEC Tech Hub is expected to generate hundreds of high-paying energy jobs across Idaho and Wyoming, with projections indicating thousands more nationally. The EDA projects that every federal dollar spent will yield $3 to $4 in ensuing private contributions.
