TMG Automotive and Haartz Corporation Collaborate on New U.S. Manufacturing Facility

TMG Automotive and Haartz Corporation Announce New Manufacturing Facility in North Carolina

TMG Automotive, based in Guimarães, Portugal, and Haartz Corporation from Acton, Massachusetts, have officially announced a collaborative venture called TMG & Haartz Solutions. This new initiative aims to establish a manufacturing facility in Bostic, North Carolina, dedicated to producing high-quality automotive interior surface materials.

A Major Investment in Local Infrastructure

The newly formed joint venture will take place in the sustainably renovated former Milliken Golden Valley plant, offering nearly 300,000 square feet of space specifically for synthetic leather manufacturing. This strategic location aims to support the increasing demand for automotive materials such as seat covers, instrument panels, door pillars, and shift gear boots. With combined experience surpassing 150 years in the automotive industry, both companies are poised to make significant contributions to the sector across the Americas.

Jose-Antonio Texeira, Co-CEO of TMG Automotive, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, stating, "We are thrilled to formally announce the next phase of our longstanding partnership with The Haartz Corporation. This facility represents a step forward in our objective of meeting the evolving demands of the automotive sector."

The Rationale Behind Selecting North Carolina

Choosing North Carolina for the manufacturing site was not accidental. Both companies conducted a thorough evaluation of various factors, including market proximity, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth potential. The region's favorable conditions are expected to bolster TMG & Haartz Solutions’ ability to serve the North American automotive market while reinforcing their global supply chain and innovation capabilities.

"We recognize the value of maintaining a strong local presence, allowing for quick and efficient responses to market needs," Texeira noted. This strategic decision also illustrates a commitment to creating jobs and generating long-term benefits for the local community.

John Millea, President of The Haartz Corporation, also highlighted the excitement surrounding this new manufacturing site, saying, "We are looking forward to our joint effort with TMG. Our companies have demonstrated a strong willingness to navigate challenges and innovate within the automotive industry. Adding synthetic leather production capabilities in North Carolina expands our product offerings and improves our service to customers throughout the Americas."

Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation

TMG & Haartz Solutions is a testament to the synergies created by two family-owned leaders in the industry. By merging their innovative capacities and expertise developed over a century, they aim to deliver best-in-class service while minimizing the environmental impact typically associated with global supply chains. Each product manufactured under this venture will be a reflection of their dedication to precision, local stewardship, and sustainability, paving the way for the next generation of automotive design.

"Driving performance and being local by choice is our mantra at TMG & Haartz Solutions," concluded Texeira.

Looking Ahead

This partnership not only signifies physical growth through manufacturing but also embodies a shared vision of excellence and customer satisfaction in the automotive sector. As TMG & Haartz Solutions embarks on this exciting new journey, industry stakeholders and local communities can look forward to a robust manufacturing operation that prioritizes innovation and quality.
