Anycubic Unveils Innovative Desktop Manufacturing Solutions at Formnext 2025

At Formnext 2025, held in Frankfurt, Germany, Anycubic thrilled the audience with the introduction of three groundbreaking products, signaling a transformative era in desktop manufacturing. Their latest offerings, including the advanced Kobra S1 Max and Kobra X systems, as well as the Photon P1 resin printer, herald a new wave of technology designed for increased speed, stability, and versatility in material usage.

Moving Towards Production-Ready Equipment

James Ouyang, CTO of Anycubic, emphasized the trend where the boundaries between hobby tools and production machinery are becoming increasingly blurred. "Creators today require desktop equipment that rival factory-grade tools—stable, reliable, and ready for various materials. This is precisely the direction we are taking with our latest products," Ouyang commented.

The Kobra S1 Max: Crafted for Professional Output

The Kobra S1 Max is a standout in Anycubic’s new range, featuring a large-format CoreXY platform aimed at users who expect engineering-level stability and an array of material options. With an impressive build volume of 350 × 350 × 350 mm and operating temperatures reaching 350°C for the hotend and 120°C for the bed, this system allows for the use of engineering materials like polycarbonate (PC), nylon (PA), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and carbon-fiber composites.

This model boasts the newly upgraded ACE 2 Pro system powered by four independent brushless motors, which reduces color-change time and enhances stability and noise control. Other features include hardened-steel components for enhanced durability and the LeviQ 3.0 auto-leveling system, making the Kobra S1 Max a reliable workhorse for creators producing functional parts at scale.

Kobra X: Elevating Multi-Color Printing

Next up is the Kobra X, a refined take on Anycubic’s multi-color technology. This second-generation architecture allows for cleaner transitions and significantly less material waste. The new ACE GEN2 feature minimizes purging distances from 160 mm to just 30 mm, streamlining the printing process and cutting down filament usage by nearly half. Standard configurations support four-color printing, expandable to 19 colors, and it allows stable mixing of materials like PLA with TPU or PVA. Enhanced pressure control and rapid motion performance, reaching up to 600 mm/s, make the Kobra X a pivotal tool for creative projects.

Photon P1: The Benchmark in Resin Printing

Making its debut at the event, the Photon P1 integrates industrial-grade features into a compact desktop resin printer. It supports resins with a viscosity of up to 8000 cps and includes a dual-platform and dual-vat system for true multi-material printing. This printer is equipped with a Wave Release Film plus NFEP dual-layer separation system, which minimizes peel force by an impressive 60%. Furthermore, with ±0.01 mm Z-axis repeatability and a LightTurbo 4.0 optical engine that achieves 92% light uniformity, the Photon P1 is crafted for precise prototyping and short-run production.

Ouyang poignantly summed up Anycubic's mission: “Our vision is simple: to bring factory-level capabilities within the reach of every maker and engineer in the community.” With its commitment to high automation, enhanced material adaptability, and catering to the demand for production-ready desktop systems, Anycubic's 2025 offerings are set to redefine what’s possible in the world of desktop manufacturing.

Together, the Kobra S1 Max, Kobra X, and Photon P1 form a cohesive ecosystem built for creators, engineers, and small-scale manufacturers, all seeking dependable and high-performance fabrication solutions.
