HELPUSH Selected for Creation Camp TENNOZ
Tokyo-based HELPUSH, led by CEO Yusuke Terada, recently announced its selection as a participant in the second cohort of the Creation Camp TENNOZ, an incubation initiative by Terada Warehouse Co., Ltd. This program will provide HELPUSH the opportunity to leverage the creative environment in Tennozu while receiving guidance from supporting companies and venture capitalists.
HELPUSH is dedicated to addressing various challenges related to mobility, aiming to enhance the lives of individuals through its outing assistance service, also named HELPUSH. This selection marks a significant step in implementing its services in society, helping individuals with mobility challenges navigate the complexities of outings more easily.
Understanding the HELPUSH Service
HELPUSH operates under the philosophy, "The opportunities that expand our lives are always found outside." The company is focused on providing solutions to the substantial barriers wheelchair users face when venturing out, namely physical, informational, and psychological obstacles. By combining both digital and real-world functionalities, HELPUSH aims to make outings more accessible.
Digital Solutions
Through digital mechanisms, HELPUSH offers an interactive map that visualizes obstacles such as curbs over 7cm high and construction zones along intended routes. This innovation significantly reduces the time users spend searching for accessible pathways and helps them overcome physical barriers more effectively.
Real-world Applications
In conjunction with digital tools, HELPUSH also introduces designated "meeting spots" strategically placed on the map and throughout urban areas. These waiting areas can be pre-arranged, offering peace of mind during outings, ensuring that support is readily available in cases of need.
Moreover, the company strives to cultivate an inclusive urban environment, producing barrier-discovery walking events aimed at promoting interaction between wheelchair users and able-bodied individuals. Participants engage in collecting barrier information in an enjoyable way, strengthening community ties and awareness.
Collaborations with local media and outreach platforms, such as the popular YouTube channel "Terada Family TV," help amplify their message and encourage registration of users and supporters across a broader community.
What is the Creation Camp TENNOZ?
The Creation Camp TENNOZ initiative is part of a broader project known as the "Isle of Creation TENNOZ," championed by Terada Warehouse to establish a hub for business innovation along Tokyo's riversides and within its artistic enclaves. The second cohort, which consists of 10 startups including HELPUSH, will be settling into a renovated incubation facility starting in October. This facility will serve as a supportive environment for the next two years as they concentrate on commercializing their ventures.
From approximately 300 applications, the selection process involved multiple rounds of assessments, culminating in a final pitch event called "Creation Campfire 2025." Following competitive presentations, HELPUSH and nine other ambitious companies earned their spots in this promising program.
The incubation facility for the program is located on the second floor of the Terada Warehouse G1 building, situated in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
