Kolmar Korea Achieves Recognition for Sustainable Growth in 2026 by TIME for the Second Year in a Row
Kolmar Korea, a global leader in cosmetic ODM (Original Design Manufacturing), has made headlines again as it was named among TIME's Best Companies in Sustainable Growth for the year 2026. This prestigious recognition marks a significant milestone as it is awarded for the second consecutive year, affirming Kolmar's unwavering commitment to eco-friendly business practices and sustainability. Announced on November 13, the ranking, conducted in collaboration with research firm Statista, assessed over 4,000 companies worldwide.
In this year's prestigious list, Kolmar Korea stands out as the sole cosmetic manufacturer from South Korea to secure a spot for two consecutive years. The evaluation criteria were notably rigorous, factoring in revenue growth, financial stability, and environmental impact, all rated on a 100-point scale. Kolmar achieved an impressive overall score of 81.02, placing it within the top 7% of the best companies globally and solidifying its position amidst fierce competition from other industry players who demonstrate robust growth rates and financial stability.
Among the highlights of Kolmar Korea's performance were exceptional results in sustainability indicators. It ranked second among Korean companies in terms of carbon intensity and emissions performance while finding itself in the top 30% of global companies for waste and water resource management. These statistics serve as a testament to the company’s extensive and relentless commitment to eco-sustainable innovation and circular sustainability. As a pioneer in the industry, Kolmar Korea has developed cutting-edge sustainable packaging solutions, such as paper tubes, paper sticks, and one-handed pump paper packaging, significantly reducing plastic usage. Notably, its paper tube and paper stick have won three of the world's most prestigious design awards: the IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards), the iF Design Award, and the Red Dot Design Award, reinforcing Kolmar's influence on global packaging trends.
In addition to its innovative packaging, Kolmar Korea is accelerating the development of sustainable formulations and ingredients within its product portfolio. This includes certified Green Technology Product sunscreen creams, manufactured through an anti-aging ingredient extraction process that reduces carbon emissions by 83%, along with biodegradable hair and body care products that break down naturally by over 99%, thereby minimizing environmental impacts.
The company has also enhanced its sustainable production capacity, achieving an impressive waste recycling rate of 84.8% and reducing landfill waste by 57.8% annually as part of its 'Zero-Landfill' initiative.
In combination with its internal sustainability efforts, Kolmar Korea is dedicated to supporting the expansion of the South Korean cosmetic ecosystem by promoting shared growth with emerging independent beauty brands. The company frequently organizes beauty trend seminars and marketing strategy sessions for client brands, supports independent brand pop-up stores during the Seoul Beauty Week, and has launched the CONNECT FOR GREEN sustainability seminar in partnership with other entities to establish a collaborative ESG value chain.
Yoon Sang Hyun, Vice President of Kolmar Group, commented on this recognition: "Being recognized among the world's leading companies for sustainable growth for the second consecutive year reflects the results of our long-term and global commitment to sustainable management. We will continue to responsibly represent Korea as a global enterprise, fostering eco-friendly management and technological innovation."
