European Promotion of the CISCE: Building New Collaborations for Global Supply Chain
From March 17th to 21st, 2025, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) led a significant delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs on a visit to Italy and Serbia, marking a pivotal event in global supply chain cooperation. The key highlight was the China-Italy Economic and Trade Forum, accompanied by the promotion of the third China International Supply Chain Expo, which took place in Milan and Belgrade.
During this event, Mr. Ren, a prominent figure of the CCPIT, emphasized that 2025 marks the milestone of 50 years of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union. He noted that significant strides have been made in various fields of cooperation between the two regions over these years. The CCPIT’s agenda focuses on strengthening industry collaboration and enhancing the supply chain's efficiency within the international business community.
Ren underscored the necessity for high-level openness to foster a favorable business environment for private sectors. A central theme of the forum revolved around bolstering bilateral relations through balanced and reciprocal multilateralism while advocating for trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. The discussions also ventured into exploring newer sectors, especially renewable energy, digital economy, and equipment manufacturing, which signal a progressive shift in business focus amidst evolving global trends.
As major global economies, China and the EU are reinforcing their cooperative foundations. Ren stated that such commitments could stabilize bilateral relations and mitigate risks from external pressures, consequently providing a fresh impetus to the global economic recovery.
A prominent feature of the event was the presence of distinguished speakers, including Mario Boselli from the Italy-China Foundation, David Doninotti from the Italian Foreign Trade Association, Liu Kan, the Chinese Consul General in Milan, and several ministers and ambassadors from Serbia. Over 400 delegates from trade organizations, professional associations, and businesses from both countries attended, indicating the event's significant impact on fostering international trade networking and partnership.
Moreover, during the gathering, the China International Exhibition Center Group secured multiple cooperation agreements with various organizations and firms. This dynamic outcome illustrates the ongoing commitment of both nations to nurture economic ties and establish a resilient framework for future trade and investment.
In conclusion, this promotional event for the CISCE epitomizes how collaborative efforts can lead to enhanced supply chain dynamics, ultimately benefiting the respective economies involved. The dialogue initiated here sets an empowering precedent for future endeavors, urging European enterprises to actively participate in the forthcoming expo and leverage it as a platform for deeper industry exchange and robust partnerships in the global market.
