In an effort to enhance communication beyond language barriers, Sega Fave, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, has partnered with the Kansai University’s recognized student community, the Expo Club. This collaboration aims to spread the innovative communication method known as Emojication, which utilizes emojis to foster interaction among individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Introducing emojam

Scheduled for release in December 2024, emojam is a unique communication device designed for users to convey messages solely through emojis. It adds an engaging element of mystery as users decode the meanings and sentiments behind emoji sequences, allowing for non-verbal interactions that emphasize entertainment and creativity.

On another front, the EmoPro team, which launched in May 2023 under Kansai University’s Expo Club, developed the Emojication concept as a visual, global mode of communication transcending linguistic barriers. This initiative reflects a shared vision of both Sega Fave and EmoPro, aiming to eliminate language constraints and promote more empathetic exchanges. After its release, emojam has become a talking point on social media among adults, further fueling the anticipated growth of Emojication through this partnership.

The Impact of Emojication Ahead of the Osaka Expo

As the Expo approaches, the Kansai University Expo Club focuses on showcasing Japan's emoji culture at Yumeshima Island, where the event will take place. Their ambition involves the daily implementation of Emojication as a standard communication method, aimed at increasing emoji literacy among students and the wider community.

To engage not only emojam users but also the general public, Sega Fave's social media platform, the Sega Toy Information Bureau, will provide valuable insights and tips on Emojication developed by the EmoPro team.

In line with their initiative, Kansai University will host several exclusive events leading up to the Expo:
