Public Lecture on Reproductive Health at Okayama University
Overview
Okayama University, located in Okayama City and led by President Yasutomo Nasu, is set to host a public lecture titled
"Understanding Infertility and Supporting Couples" on June 15, 2025. The event will take place from
14:30 to 16:20 at the
Junko Fukutake Hall (J Hall) on the Tsushima campus.
Why Attend?
Infertility issues, including miscarriage and stillbirth, impact
1 in 20 women, yet awareness remains shockingly low. Often, couples find it challenging to speak about their struggles due to societal stigma and a lack of understanding from those around them. Many might hesitate to take time off work or connect with specialized medical facilities due to fears of judgment and lack of support. This public lecture aims to foster a better understanding of
infertility and outline the critical support that couples can receive.
What to Expect
During the lecture, participants will:
- - Learn about various medical insights into infertility and the possibility of treatment and prevention regarding miscarriages and stillbirths.
- - Understand the challenges that infertility couples face and how well-meaning words from friends and family can sometimes cause more harm than help.
- - Gain knowledge on appropriate responses and support methods that can benefit those experiencing these issues.
Attendance is
free, and interested individuals are encouraged to participate and gain valuable insights. For further details, you can refer to the event flyer available
here.
