Celebrating 75 Years of Peninsula Family Service

Peninsula Family Service (PFS), a cornerstone of community support in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, is proudly celebrating its 75th anniversary throughout this year. Since its inception in 1950, PFS has dedicated itself to empowering individuals and families, ensuring they have the resources needed to lead healthy, stable lives.

Over the past seven and a half decades, PFS has significantly expanded its offerings, now providing more than 45 diverse programs and services that benefit over 10,000 residents annually. These initiatives cover various areas including early learning, financial training, senior support, and employment services. With a focus on enabling communities to thrive, PFS remains committed to broadening access to essential resources, paving the way for stronger neighborhoods for the next 75 years and beyond.

Heather Cleary, CEO of PFS, expressed her enthusiasm about this monumental milestone by stating, "This milestone is a celebration of the partnerships and individuals whose collective efforts have made our impact possible. Looking ahead, we embrace the same determination that has guided us from the beginning. Our mission continues to evolve, innovate, and ensure that everyone who walks through our doors finds the support they need to flourish."

Year-long Celebration Events

The year-long festivities include a variety of events designed to honor PFS's rich history and its ongoing mission:

• - March 8, 2025: Disco Diamonds Gala - Kicking off the celebration, the Hillsborough Auxiliary to Peninsula Family Service is hosting this gala at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, CA. The evening starts with cocktails at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner and a live auction at 7:00 PM, culminating in a dance at 9:00 PM.

• - May 1, 2025: 75th Birthday Celebration - Marking 50 years of impactful service, this celebration will take place at the San Mateo County Historical Museum.

• - July 19, 2025: 75th Anniversary Community Picnic - A family-friendly gathering, this event will bring together community members, partners, and supporters for a day of fun and connection.

• - September 25, 2025: Transforming Society with Artificial Intelligence - The 10th installment of PFS’s Annual Thought Leaders Series will feature expert discussions on the implications of AI on employment, financial access, and ethics.

• - October 20, 2025: 75th Celebrity Golf Tournament - PFS will host a celebrity golf tournament at the Palo Alto Hills Country Club, supporting essential community programs.
