The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto is set to host its annual Charity Breakfast on December 17, 2025, as part of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility through the Community Footprint initiative. This cherished event, now in its seventh year since its inception in 2017, invites guests to enjoy a complimentary hotel breakfast buffet in exchange for Christmas gifts that will be donated to children in need.

The previous years have seen overwhelming support, and as the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto approaches its 10th anniversary in 2024, past events culminated with 395 gifts generously donated by 241 participants, all delivered to children's care facilities in Kyoto. The event quickly sells out each year, establishing itself as a heartwarming winter tradition in the city.

Event Details

Guests who bring Christmas gifts will be treated to a delicious buffet breakfast served in the serene ambiance of the hotel’s ballroom, TAKANE. This year, the charity’s outreach will extend beyond children's care facilities to also include support for medical facilities in Kyoto that assist children requiring medical care and their families, emphasizing the hotel’s commitment to helping the wider community.

The organizers express hope that guests can weave a gentle chain of kindness, connecting their thoughtful gifts to the smiles of children.

Gift Requirements

Attendees are requested to bring Christmas gifts valued at around 5,000 yen each, with the following guidelines:

• - A single gift per person
• - No wrapping is necessary; gifts should be visible
• - Acceptable items include toys, plushies, stationery, and picture books for children, ensuring that all selections bring joy
• - Note that previous restrictions on age and gender have been lifted, allowing for more inclusive gifting options. However, food items are not permitted for safety reasons.
