Other significant concerns included spiking insurance costs (88%), decreased food supplies (89%), contamination issues concerning rivers and streams (86%), as well as the possibility of power supply shortages resulting from diminished hydropower resources (86%).

Polling Methodology

The polling data, gathered through a multi-state project sponsored by the Walton Family Foundation, was conducted by Morning Consult between June 12 and June 19, 2026. Pollsters interacted with 2,474 registered voters in the seven states via online methods. This data was weighted to align with demographic benchmarks for adults based on age, gender, race/ethnicity, education, and party affiliation in each state.
