Celebrating the Completion of the Ponta Pass Caravan with a Happy Up Movie Release
KDDI has announced the release of a 'Happy Up Movie' on August 25, 2025, to commemorate the successful completion of the 'Ponta Pass Pom Pom Agessugi Truck Caravan.' This caravan journey began on May 29, 2025, from Kitayan Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, and traveled across 11 cities in Japan, finishing on August 5, 2025, back in Shibuya. The movie captures more than two months of the caravan's activities, featuring the smiling faces of over 14,000 attendees who joined the events held at various locations.
The 'Pom Pom Agessugi Truck Caravan' was launched as part of the 'Agessugi Challenge' campaign, celebrating the success of the 'Ponta Pass' subscription service, which boasts around 1.5 million users and offers benefits for a monthly fee of 548 yen. The caravan rolled through eighteen venues, spreading joy and excitement while offering special experiences along the way.
Throughout the journey, numerous events took place. Notably, on June 28, 2025, Mayumi Shiraishi and Sakuna Yamauchi from SWEET STEADY took on the role of store managers for a day at Lawson in Toyonaka, and on June 29, Mayumi Shiraishi and Natsuka Kurita managed the Lawson store situated in front of the Kyoto South Ward Office. In addition, attendees were treated to special offers during various sports events and live concerts, with products like Meiji Essel Super Cup, Pocari Sweat, and Lawson's exclusive items being distributed to enthusiastic crowds.
The successful culmination of the caravan witnessed participants receiving approximately 16,500 special items, highlighting the massive outreach and engagement of the initiative. KDDI's commitment to enhancing customer experiences through 'Ponta Pass' will continue, including improved convenience through partnerships with Lawson stores for membership registration and integration with the Lawson app.
