The Mosaic Company Sees Significant Leadership Changes

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 23, 2026 — In a recent announcement, The Mosaic Company, a key player in the agriculture sector, revealed significant changes within its executive leadership team. Karen Swager, the current Executive Vice President of Operations, has decided to retire after a commendable career spanning over 30 years with the company and its predecessors. This transition will mark the conclusion of a noteworthy chapter in the company’s history, filled with achievements in operational excellence and strategic growth.

Walt Precourt, who currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will assume the role of Executive Vice President – Operations starting December 1. Precourt has been with Mosaic since 2009, bringing a wealth of experience to his new position. His leadership portfolio has included overseeing the phosphate and potash businesses, as well as the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Strategy sectors. He has been a recognized member of the Executive Leadership Team since 2014 and is well-regarded for his deep understanding of Mosaic's intricate operations.

Bruce Bodine, President and CEO of Mosaic, expressed satisfaction with the selection of Precourt to lead operations during challenging business conditions, particularly within the phosphate sector. "Walt's thoughtful leadership and comprehensive grasp of our operations are widely respected within the company. I am confident he will continue to drive the improvements that Karen has championed throughout her tenure," Bodine stated.

Under Precourt’s future leadership, the focus will not only be on global operations but also on the company's EHS functions, emphasizing the importance of safety and sustainability in business practices. He will continue to work from the company’s Tampa headquarters.

Karen Swager’s journey at Mosaic has been shaped by various roles, including General Manager of several operating facilities and head of the potash business and supply chain. She took on the position of Executive Vice President – Operations in 2023, steering Mosaic through both growth and challenges. Bodine paid tribute to Swager’s significant contributions to the company, stating, "Karen has had a remarkable career at Mosaic.
