Altius Link to Host Disaster Prevention Festival in Sapporo on August 30th

Altius Link's Disaster Prevention Festival: A Community Initiative

Altius Link, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, is organizing a significant event known as the "Disaster Prevention Festival" at its BPO and contact center location, Polaris_Sapporo, in the Shiroishi district of Sapporo. Scheduled for August 30, 2025, this festival aims to equip attendees with essential knowledge about disaster preparedness, especially in light of recent natural calamities like earthquakes and heavy rains.

The festival's offerings are diverse, appealing to individuals of all ages. Attendees, including families with children, can enjoy various engaging activities designed to impart crucial disaster awareness and prevention skills. Among the intriguing experiences, attendees can put on VR goggles to simulate flooding scenarios and engage in practical exercises, such as operating antennas at a vehicle-mounted base station, courtesy of KDDI. Additionally, Altius Link will introduce nutritious and delicious emergency food options, including Nissin Foods' certified "Complete Meals" and Ito En’s "1 Day’s Worth of Vegetables." To top it off, those participating in the event will be eligible for exciting giveaways, including disaster preparedness kits and eco-friendly bags!

Importance and Objectives of the Event

The increasing frequency and severity of disasters emphasize the necessity for enhanced public awareness of disaster prevention. However, surveys, such as those conducted by Macromill, indicate that a significant portion of the population is underprepared. For example, while 49% of citizens confirm they have checked evacuation routes, fewer than 40% have prepared emergency bags or secured their furniture against potential hazards.

Given these statistics, there’s a definitive need for initiatives that encourage proactive disaster preparedness within the community. Altius Link has been progressively incorporating community support mechanisms since 2022, launching a District Continuity Plan (DCP) aimed at cohesively addressing disaster responses within the region. In the event of a disaster, Polaris_Sapporo stands ready to establish smartphone charging stations, offering vital support to local residents in crisis situations.

Through this festival, Altius Link seeks not only to raise awareness of their efforts but also to provide families and community members with a platform to discuss and learn about disaster management.
