Pylontech Advances Energy Storage Solutions with New LFP Cells Production
Pylontech Begins Mass Production of New LFP Cells
Pylontech, a leading energy storage manufacturer, has announced the commencement of mass production for its new prismatic Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells with capacities of 588Ah and 601Ah at its Hefei manufacturing facility. This milestone marks a significant step in the company's expansion into high-capacity energy storage solutions for electrical grids.
On September 21, 2026, the first batch of these state-of-the-art cells began rolling off the production line. Designed for large-scale energy storage applications, the new cells boast enhanced safety features, longevity, and energy efficiency. Pylontech has already produced over 100 MWh of these new cells, demonstrating its capability for large-scale manufacturing and product innovation.
These advanced cells are engineered to integrate seamlessly with Pylontech's next-generation energy storage systems, including the PyOcean models of 6.25 MWh and 8 MWh that are ready for deployment in new energy projects.
As Pylontech continues to broaden its market presence in high-capacity energy storage solutions for grid applications, the company is actively supplying systems to a growing number of large-scale projects both domestically in China and internationally. Notable undertakings include a 120 MW/240 MWh energy storage project in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, and a standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of 200 MW/400 MWh in Ningxia, as well as several projects in Europe. These efforts have enriched Pylontech's experience in deploying large-scale energy storage systems, enhancing its market competitiveness.
The new cells come with significant improvements in critical performance metrics such as capacity, energy density, lifespan, and energy efficiency. The 601Ah cell achieves an energy density of 425.8 Wh/l, a longevity of over 12,000 cycles, and an energy efficiency rating of 96.5%. The higher capacity not only minimizes the number of cells and interconnections required within storage systems but also facilitates a more compact system design, more efficient integration, and improved lifecycle economics.
Manufacturing takes place in Pylontech's smart factory in Hefei, where the primary manufacturing processes are fully automated, supported by over 120 industrial robots and 180 sets of intelligent manufacturing equipment. The company's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) captures production and quality data throughout all stages, ensuring 100% traceability of each cell and rigorous quality control.
With the mass production of the 588Ah and 601Ah cells officially underway, Pylontech is committed to advancing its cell technology, manufacturing capabilities, and system integration options to meet the surging demand for high-capacity energy storage solutions on a global scale. The outlook for Pylontech appears robust as it continues to innovate and respond to the evolving needs of the energy storage market.
