Summit Clinical Research Solutions Enhances Pinnacle Network with Dallas Research Institute Acquisition

Summit Clinical Research Solutions Expands Pinnacle Network

Summit Clinical Research Solutions, under the investment of LongueVue Capital, has recently broadened its horizons by acquiring the Dallas Research Institute (DRI). This strategic move marks a significant milestone for Summit and its integrated site network, Pinnacle Clinical Research.

A New Chapter for Summit

The acquisition, announced on September 10, 2026, not only enhances Summit's operational framework but also focuses on the growing field of metabolic and liver diseases. DRI has gained recognition for its expertise in conducting complex clinical trials, specifically targeting Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), and obesity. This specialization resonates well with Summit’s existing competencies and aligns perfectly with its mission to streamline sponsor engagement and boost the efficiency of clinical trials.

Strategic Expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

By integrating DRI into its Pinnacle network, Summit enhances its presence in the rapidly growing Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a key market for clinical trials in the United States. This acquisition not only brings a reputable clinical research site into the fold but also allows Summit to tap into the diverse demographics that DFW offers, furthering its strategic objectives in clinical trial execution.

Dr. Pedro Castillo Jr., a double board-certified physician and the Principal Investigator at DRI since its inception, expressed his enthusiasm about the integration. He stated, “From the beginning, it was clear that Summit and Pinnacle share our commitment to conducting high-quality clinical research and delivering exceptional patient care. We are excited to join an organization that will help us to continue to expand our impact on patients and provide industry-leading solutions to sponsors.”

Aligning with a Vision

The acquisition is seen as a natural fit, with Ryan Nagim, Managing Partner at LongueVue Capital, commenting, “DRI is a natural fit for the Pinnacle site network given its overlapping therapeutic area focus and expands the Company’s presence in the desirable DFW metroplex.” This acquisition signifies not just a growth strategy, but a commitment to the vision laid out by the late Dr. Stephen Harrison, co-founder of both Summit and Pinnacle.

High-Quality Execution in Clinical Trials

Summit Clinical Research is renowned for its integrated approach to clinical trials, leveraging its network to deliver robust support for sponsors. With over 110 partner sites across eight countries and 15 fully owned sites in the US, Summit specializes in a variety of areas including metabolic disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and others. Since 2018, their platform has supported over 85 sponsors through more than 170 clinical trials, yielding high enrollment rates and patient satisfaction.
