EY Shin Nihon Launches ALiS on Freee App Store
EY Shin Nihon, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is proud to announce the launch of its new system, ALiS (Accounting Linkage System), which is designed to assist in auditing procedures for standalone financial statements. This system is now available on the Freee App Store, integrating seamlessly with Freee's accounting software.
The collaboration between ALiS and Freee’s accounting system marks a significant step forward in automating business operations, which enhances the efficiency of audit responses and enables EY Shin Nihon to deliver higher-quality audit services. By utilizing cloud technology, ALiS collects essential data such as receipts, trial balances, and accounting entries necessary for the auditing process while also allowing for necessary data manipulations.
Initially connected to Freee's accounting system via API in July 2023, ALiS has already proven its efficiency, leading to its recent approval as a public application in the Freee App Store after undergoing a rigorous review process.
With the integration into Freee, ALiS automatically retrieves potentially hundreds or thousands of data receipts annually. This innovation streamlines processes that were traditionally performed via email, such as data collation and submission status confirmation, significantly reducing human error. Enhanced security measures in data transfer further minimize the risks of information leakage caused by mishandling emails or losing USB drives.
Contribution to Reducing Audit Load
EY Shin Nihon’s initiative aligns with its vision for a new digital audit and assurance business model known as “Assurance 4.0.” The firm is committed to developing digital audit tools that leverage AI and data analytics while also promoting process automation and standardization through Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and APIs.
Collaboration with software vendors is underway to broaden the scope of automation and improve operational processes. Future developments will focus on automating data manipulation and verification across three key audit processes: standalone, consolidated, and disclosure.
It is worth noting that utilization of ALiS is limited to entities that have entered into an audit contract with EY Shin Nihon.
