Insights on Long-Term Home Warranties: A Comprehensive Study

In the wake of an increasing number of natural disasters and a growing interest in the longevity of houses, the LIXIL Housing Research Institute launched a detailed survey on long-term home warranties. Conducted between August 14 and August 20, 2025, this report showcases the responses of 441 married women living in single-family homes across Japan, excluding Okinawa.

Summary of Findings

The survey focused on understanding the current state and satisfaction regarding long-term home warranties through insights gained from individuals who either have recently purchased a single-family home or are considering building one.
The results revealed that approximately 59.1% of respondents either currently have a long-term warranty or believe they have one, with 34.2% affirming they definitely have it, and 24.9% indicating uncertainty.
