Special Event for World Refugee Day
On July 16, 2026, Atre Co., Ltd. will proudly host a special screening event as part of the World Refugee Day campaign, organized by the UNHCR Association. The event will take place at TOHO Cinemas Oimachi, located within the Oimachi Tracks Shop & Restaurant, which opened in March this year.
This free screening event embodies Atre's sustainability message, "with atre - Connecting to the Future Together." Attendees will enjoy a screening of the critically acclaimed film "Barbarian Rhapsody," which gained popularity at the 20th Refugee Film Festival 2025. Additionally, the audience will have the opportunity to engage in a talk show featuring actress and member of the film's subtitle translation team, Shoko Nakajima.
Through the actions of watching a movie and listening to stories, this event aims to foster empathy towards refugees, presenting them as individuals with everyday lives, thus expanding understanding and support for their causes.

Film: "Barbarian Rhapsody" (101 minutes, Japanese and English subtitles) - A story depicting the residents of a small French village as they prepare to welcome a Syrian refugee family, revealing the prejudices they face and the acceptance that can arise through interaction. Directed by Julie Delpy, it had its Japanese premiere at the 20th Refugee Film Festival 2025.

Talk Show: Shoko Nakajima (Actress) - Shoko Nakajima, a member of the Japanese subtitle translation team (Pro bono support from the Japan Visual Translation Academy), will participate in the talk show.
About Shoko Nakajima
Shoko Nakajima made her debut in 1983 with the TBS drama "Fuzoroi no Ringotachi." Since then, she has appeared in various television shows, films, and theater productions. In 1995, she published a photo essay titled “Fat,” sharing her experiences with body image and self-acceptance. She studied abroad in New York as a part of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Fellowship artists program and has lived between Japan and New York while continuing her acting career.
In 2023, she completed the English-Japanese visual translation and practical course at the Japan Visual Translation Academy (JVTA) and currently writes a column titled "Seeking Freedom: The Goddess of Shoko Nakajima" on the JVTA official website.
