Jun Sports Hokkaido Athletes at the 64th NHK Cup Gymnastics

The highly anticipated 64th NHK Cup Gymnastics will take place at the Tokyo Gymnasium from May 16 to 18, 2025. The competition not only serves as a platform for gymnasts to showcase their skills but also acts as a crucial selection event for the Japanese team at the 53rd World Gymnastics Championships, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, this October. Among the promising competitors are Koki Maeda and Shuto Nagasaki, representing Jun Sports Hokkaido, based in Sapporo. Their participation is seen as an opportunity for them to shine and for the northern region to present its prowess in gymnastics.

Athletes Profile

Koki Maeda

Koki Maeda, competing in the men's category, demonstrated great resilience during the All Japan Gymnastics Individual Championships, bouncing back from a preliminary rank of 29th to place 20th in the finals on the horizontal bar. With a clear goal to finish within the top 12 at the NHK Cup, which is a benchmark for national selection, Maeda has shown significant improvements and remains a strong contender.

Shuto Nagasaki

Shuto Nagasaki, who specialized in the pommel horse during the All Japan Championships, briefly took the lead in the finals before securing second place. As he heads into the NHK Cup, the stakes are high as he aims for a spot on the world gymnastics team.
