Booost Selected for Ministry of Economy's Sustainability Initiative in Japan

Booost Inc.'s Recent Achievement in Sustainability

Booost Inc., a leading player in the sustainability ERP sector, has been officially selected to participate in the "2025 Sustainability Enhancement Initiative for Storage Batteries" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of Japan. This initiative aims to establish a foundation for improving the sustainability of products like batteries, aligning with Booost's mission to support corporate sustainability transformations (SX) through innovative technological solutions.

Commitment to Government Initiatives

The company plans to work on several key projects under this new partnership. Primarily, Booost will link its offerings to the government-run "Uranos Ecosystem." This ecosystem includes a "Data Distribution System" essential for safe inter-company data exchange across industries, particularly in light of the new European Battery Regulation. The systems being developed will not only facilitate data flow but also provide a comprehensive framework for tracking the lifecycle of batteries from production to disposal.

Booost’s flagship sustainability ERP, "booost Sustainability," has been certified as a Carbon Footprint (CFP) calculation application under the General Incorporated Association Automotive and Battery Traceability Promotion Center (ABtC). This certification confirms its compatibility with the ABtC's traceability management system, enabling organizations to efficiently manage their sustainability data while complying with developing regulations.

Proactive Engagement in Regulatory Developments

As the European Battery Regulation evolves, Booost is prepared to adapt its systems accordingly. The company has engaged deeply with industry stakeholders through seminars and roundtable discussions to grasp practical challenges faced by businesses in this domain. Notably, they have submitted public comments to the EU and UK governments to amplify the voice of Japanese businesses in international policy discussions.

This proactive approach aims to ensure that Japanese companies can smoothly navigate the complexities of evolving international regulations. By continuously updating their products and incorporating feedback from frontline professionals, Booost is dedicated to enhancing corporate value while meeting today’s regulatory demands.

Supporting the 2026 Sustainability Challenge

A key area of concern for many Japanese companies revolves around the impending requirements for disclosing sustainability-related financial information, referred to as the "Sustainability 2026 Problem." The risk of a declining corporate value due to delays in compliance and a lack of urgency is pressing. To combat this, Booost has initiated the "Project to Position Japan as a Leader in SX" expected to enhance the presence of Japanese businesses on the global stage.

This project, launching in November 2024, will offer events and initiatives aimed at both frontline employees and executives to address the challenges posed by sustainability obligations and enhance corporate value.

Profile of a Key Team Member

Tetsushi Uemura, a domain expert at Booost, has extensive experience in sustainable development projects, contributing to over 200 initiatives in infrastructure development. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and has been actively involved in product development related to carbon footprints since 2020. Uemura is also participating in a domestic committee regarding CBAM compliance initiatives, underlining his influence in sustainability policymaking.

Future Directions

Booost Inc. continues to expand its connectivity with data systems crucial for international regulation compliance, notably the Uranos Ecosystem. The company is committed to creating an environment where Japanese enterprises can leverage sustainability data to enhance management practices. Moreover, through product innovation aligned with evolving regulations and incorporating field feedback for policy recommendations, Booost aims to elevate the corporate value of its clients.

In conclusion, by leading the charge in developing integrated approaches that combine financial data with sustainability efforts, Booost Inc. positions itself as a pivotal player in steering Japan towards becoming a sustainability transformation (SX) front-runner.
