This special event will take place at Mie Terrace, located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, from September 20 (Saturday) to September 28 (Sunday) in 2025. This marks the very first sale of this iconic treat in Tokyo and the first since the 28th National Confectionery Expo (Asahikawa Confectionery Expo 2025) held in Hokkaido.

What is Akafuku Nama Yokan?

Akafuku Nama Yokan is a refined version of the traditional Japanese sweet that allows you to savor the deep flavor of Akafuku’s distinctive an (sweet bean paste). Crafted from ample amounts of adzuki beans, the preparation process emphasizes meticulous attention to detail in boiling, blending, and setting to create a rich aroma and a clean finish. This delicacy is characterized by its soft, moist texture and gentle sweetness that highlights the natural flavors of its ingredients—composed exclusively of adzuki beans, sugar, and agar.

A Taste of Tradition

Previously unveiled during the 28th National Confectionery Expo earlier in 2025, this event represents a long-awaited return to Tokyo for Nama Yokan lovers. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase two variants of the delicacy: “Akafuku Nama Yokan” in both an and shiroan (white bean paste) versions, available in sets of four or eight sticks.
