Upcoming Online Seminar: Shaping the Future of Local Construction Industry through DX Practices

On February 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM, a pivotal online seminar titled "Shaping the Future of Local Construction Industry through DX Practices - Understanding the Essence of Transformation from Real-World Experiences" will be hosted by Sankei Shimbun in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This seminar calls for participants eager to learn about digital transformation (DX) in the construction sector.

Experts and pioneers in construction DX will share practical insights drawn from real-world experiences and trial-and-error efforts at the frontline. Attendees can expect to leave with actionable transformation tips that stem from real-life practices. The seminar will feature a keynote speech by Ryuta Ieiri, a construction IT journalist, addressing one of the industry's most pressing issues: severe labor shortages. He will elaborate on how to create a more inclusive working environment that enables not only younger workers but also senior citizens and people with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of "barrier-free workplaces" through the effective use of DX.

In addition to the keynote, two special lectures will be presented:

Special Lecture (1): Embracing Change

Speaker: Takuzou Koyanagi, President & CEO of Koyanagi Construction Co., Ltd.

In this lecture, Koyanagi will cultivate discussions around the idea that DX should not merely be seen as a tool implementation but as a means to solve organizational communication and institutional challenges. He will discuss several of his company's initiatives and the results achieved, including their collaborative project with Microsoft Japan and the transformations realized in their new office development. Koyanagi encourages participants to view DX not as an end goal but as a vehicle for addressing ongoing issues in the construction field.

Special Lecture (2): Strategic and Practical Adoption of BIM in Local General Contractors

Speakers: Kenichi Nozu, President of Mibo Technos Co., Ltd. & Tadashi Nitta, Executive Officer of the BIM Strategy Department

Having been involved with Building Information Modeling (BIM) since 2004, Mibo Technos has amassed two decades of experience in utilizing BIM to address unique challenges faced by local general contractors. In this session, Kenichi and Tadashi will share their company's history of trial and error and showcase their current innovative BIM practices. They will also highlight the positive impact these initiatives have had on their construction processes.
