CalPortland Achieves Recognition for Environmental Conservation Excellence with Tandem Global

CalPortland's Commitment to Environmental Excellence



CalPortland Company has recently been honored with the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) Conservation Certification, a recognition powered by Tandem Global. This accolade emphasizes CalPortland's commitment to environmental stewardship through substantial conservation initiatives at its two California locations: the El Segundo Ready Mix Plant and the Crestmore Center for Technical Excellence.

Achievements Recognized



The El Segundo Ready Mix Plant has achieved the prestigious Certified Gold designation, representing the highest level of recognition available within the WHC program. This recognition places CalPortland's efforts among an elite group of more than 600 WHC Conservation Certification programs across the globe. The Gold Certification reflects a strong commitment to habitat stewardship, employee involvement, and ongoing conservation education among employees and community members.

Meanwhile, the Crestmore Center for Technical Excellence has also made significant strides, earning the WHC Conservation Silver Certification. The Center's California native plant garden showcase exemplifies CalPortland's dedication to advancing environmental stewardship throughout its operations. Both sites have implemented pollinator-friendly landscapes consisting of California native species, thereby enhancing local biodiversity in areas that are otherwise heavily developed.
