Strema Launches in Laos

Eleuno Inc., headquartered in Meguro, Tokyo and led by CEO Kenji Ohashi, has officially launched its used car trading platform, Strema, in Laos, effective from November 15, 2025. This marks the company's first expansion into Southeast Asia, focusing on the popular local practice of roadside selling. So far, more than 200 vehicles have been listed on the platform, demonstrating a promising response from users.

Fit for Laotian Roadside Selling Culture

In Laos, it is common for sellers to park their used cars in public places, displaying a notice that reads "For Sale" along with a phone number. While this method can potentially reach a wider audience, it poses challenges for both buyers and sellers. Buyers struggle to find out where and what vehicles are available, while sellers have no easy way to gauge the visibility of their parked cars.

Strema solves these problems by serving as a location-based platform for buying and selling used cars. Sellers can list their vehicles on a map, providing essential information directly to potential buyers. This allows buyers to quickly understand "where and what cars are available" without the traditional cumbersome methods of hanging paper notices, thus preserving the area's aesthetics.

Additionally, the app includes a chat feature enabling immediate negotiations between sellers and buyers. This combines the ease of roadside selling with the advantages of online convenience, fostering a new transactional environment.

Positive Response Right After Launch

Since its launch, Strema has worked closely with local partners to create a user-friendly experience for the people of Laos. Already, over 200 vehicles have been listed, with positive remarks pouring in from locals.
