Nessu's CEO Kido Participates in the 5th Multi-Sector Dialogue on Collaborative Capitalism

Nessu's Impact on Children's Opportunity Gaps

On December 12, 2025, Yuki Kido, the CEO of Nessu Inc., took part in a panel discussion at the 5th Multi-Sector Dialogue on Collaborative Capitalism, hosted by the Keizai Doyukai. Held at the Akasaka Intercity Conference, the event convened representatives from various sectors, including businesses, nonprofits, and academia, to foster discussions on solving social issues through collaboration and shared goals.

The theme for this year's dialogue, 'The Achievements of Collaborative Capitalism So Far and Its Future,' allowed Kido to introduce the Kodomo Furusato Bin initiative, which aims to dissolve opportunity disparities for children. The program utilizes hometown tax donations to provide local specialty products to children from low-income families, single-parent households, and those facing serious health challenges. Kido showcased this program as a successful example of implementing collaborative capitalism in real-world scenarios.

The Kodomo Furusato Bin initiative stands as a practical response to the glaring opportunity gaps that affect many children based on their birth circumstances. By leveraging hometown tax systems, Nessu enables community members and donors to contribute to children's well-being by sending 'support items' from local areas directly to those in need. This model not only allows donors to receive traditional benefits from their hometown taxes but also gives them an opportunity to engage directly in impact creation.

During the dialogue, Kido was accompanied by Yuki Mitsuhara, the Chairman of the certified nonprofit organization Keep Smiling. Together they discussed the importance of synergy among businesses, nonprofits, and local governments in generating collaborative efforts that create lasting impact on communities. Kido's insights emphasized that the Kodomo Furusato Bin program is not just a support initiative, but a comprehensive framework for fostering shared assistance across different sectors.

The Multi-Sector Dialogue serves as a platform where diverse stakeholders can engage in meaningful conversations about pressing societal challenges. This year's discussions also focused on specific initiatives related to children, youth, disaster prevention, recovery, and local revitalization. The collaborative spirit was evident as participants explored actionable strategies to tackle social issues collectively.

Kido expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to share the stage with esteemed panelists, stating, "Participating in this dialogue with such prominent figures is a great honor. The Kodomo Furusato Bin is not merely a support mechanism; it engenders collaboration among entities with varied perspectives and expertise to produce real assistance for the community. We aspire to continue working alongside multiple sectors toward achieving a society devoid of opportunity gaps based on a child's birthplace."

Overview of the Kodomo Furusato Bin Initiative

The Kodomo Furusato Bin initiative employs the hometown tax donation framework to deliver local products and experiences as 'support items' to children's dining halls, single-parent households, and children grappling with health adversities. This program not only mirrors traditional hometown tax structures but fosters an empathetic engagement model where donors can select exactly where their contributed items are sent, allowing for personalized giving experiences.

Since its inception in 2023, the initiative has seen participation from six municipalities, including Asahikawa City. Plans are underway to expand its reach to between 10 and 20 regions by the end of 2025.

As Nessu continues to grow, Kido remains focused on building collaborative frameworks within communities that enhance the lives of children, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background.
