Celebrating 70 Years of Japan-Laos Diplomatic Relations Through IT Exchange Program

Celebrating Diplomatic Ties

As part of commemorating the 70th anniversary of Japan-Laos diplomatic relations, an exciting invitation program will be executed under the JENESYS initiative, focusing on the field of information technology (IT). This program aims to foster cultural exchange and deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Laos through various educational activities and interactions.

Program Overview

From September 30 to October 7, 2025, a cohort of ten students from Laos—comprising graduate students, undergraduates, and vocational school attendees specializing in IT—will visit Japan. The journey includes themed lectures, site visits, and homestays, providing the Laotian participants with a unique opportunity to learn about Japan's advanced IT landscape while building friendships and trust.

This initiative looks forward to enhancing the participants’ understanding of advanced IT and discussing solutions to social issues relevant to both nations through technology. The hope is that these exchanges will contribute to human resource development in the IT field back in Laos and promote better relations with Japan.
