SINEXCEL's Contribution to Energy Storage Standards
SINEXCEL, a prominent player in energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and energy quality management, has made a significant impact by participating in the development of new technical standards for energy storage systems. These standards are pivotal for enhancing the capabilities and resilience of energy grids in China. Released under the guidance of the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau, two noteworthy standards—T/SPSTS 035-2024 and T/SPSTS 036-2024—have been established with collaborative efforts from academic institutions, including Tsinghua University in Shenzhen and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen).
The first standard, T/SPSTS 035-2024, provides comprehensive documentation on the performance and functionality of energy storage systems aimed at establishing a reliable power grid. It offers clear technical guidelines for planning and implementation, particularly in major urban areas like Shenzhen, where energy demands and complexity are higher. The second standard focuses on the operational procedures necessary for restoring power in the event of widespread outages or grid failures, underscoring the importance of having robust emergency response protocols in place.
These developments build upon SINEXCEL's earlier work in deploying the world’s first grid-forming energy storage system at a logistics center, marking a breakthrough in a key research and development project titled 'Fundamental Technology Research and Inverter Equipment for Grid-Forming Energy Storage' from Guangdong Province. These standards will serve as an authoritative resource covering the entire lifecycle of grid-forming energy storage systems, from design and manufacturing to integration and operation.
With extensive experience, SINEXCEL has developed a broad range of energy storage solutions for high-voltage networks. This includes core technologies such as control algorithms and high-power inverter topologies, which enhance grid formation and stability during disruptions while optimizing power quality. These solutions have been tested successfully under diverse conditions, providing essential practical insights that have guided the development of these new standards.
SINEXCEL’s active role in shaping these standards highlights its long-standing commitment to innovation and leadership in energy storage technologies for grid formation. Future collaborative research and development efforts are planned to advance these solutions further, aiming to meet or exceed global standards and support a more resilient and sustainable energy economy.
Founded in 2007, SINEXCEL has emerged as a pioneer in electric vehicle charging systems and energy storage solutions, having implemented a total of 12 GW of energy storage systems, 140,000 electric vehicle chargers, and nearly 20 million active harmonic filters. SINEXCEL collaborates with industry leaders, including EVE Energy and Schneider Electric, to strive for energy autonomy, enhancing energy access and quality.
