General Counsel at
Sisvel, an esteemed patent pool administrator, provided him with invaluable experience in drafting and negotiating agreements for various patent pools and licensing programs—a skill set that will be essential in his new role.

Oliver Scherenberg boasts over two decades of legal expertise, having started his career in private practice at
FRESHFIELDS, followed by an equity partnership at the German boutique IP firm
PREU BOHLIG. His specialization in
intellectual property, particularly within the realms of generative AI, web3 technology, and media law, positions him as a key player in guiding RPX’s European strategies. In recognition of his significant contributions, he has received several accolades, including spots in IAM Patent 1000 and MIP IP Stars, emphasizing his influence in the field of intellectual property.
Scherenberg holds a
Doctor of Laws (Dr. iur.) from the Technical University of Dresden and studied at prominent universities such as Freiburg, Heidelberg in Germany, and Aix-en-Provence in France. This combination of academic and practical experience equips him with the insights necessary to lead RPX's initiative effectively amidst the complexities of the European market.
