LX Pantos Successfully Completes Major Defense Logistics Project

LX Pantos, under the leadership of CEO Lee Yong-ho, announced on September 8 that they have finalized a comprehensive international logistics project aimed at supporting the defense sector. The operation involved the transportation of advanced air-to-air missiles designated for the Republic of Korea Marine Corps' Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH) program.

Overview of the Project

The air-to-air missiles were sourced from a European defense manufacturer, referred to as Manufacturer M, and were transported via a chartered flight from Châteauroux Airport in France to Incheon Airport, South Korea. Once in South Korea, the missiles were delivered to the Marine Corps unit located in Pohang via road transport. This operation was specifically organized to ensure the secure transport of the missiles, classified as explosives of Class 1, Subclass 1.2, Group E, adhering to the highest safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Transporting Dangerous Goods

Air transportation of dangerous goods, particularly those intended for the defense industry, is a highly specialized task. LX Pantos meticulously followed regulations set forth by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and adhered to national air safety requirements. To enhance security, LX Pantos utilized a specially chartered aircraft that solely carried the missiles, ensuring maximum safety during transit.

During the operation, LX Pantos successfully obtained overflight permits for 14 jurisdictions across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. They coordinated multimodal transport routes through their extensive global network, including subsidiaries in Europe, to facilitate the timely and secure delivery of the missiles.

Enhancements in Defense Logistics

Since receiving an “Excellent” rating in a security evaluation conducted by the Defense Counterintelligence Command of the Republic of Korea in 2024, LX Pantos has been expanding its logistics services tailored to the defense sector. The company also achieved the highest level, AL3, in the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX). This certification underscores their capability to meet strict global information security standards.

A representative from LX Pantos emphasized that this project not only confirms their advanced expertise in security, protection, and logistics but also sets the stage for continued support to clients within the global defense sector. They are keen on strengthening their position in the defense logistics market, ensuring they meet the increasing demands of the industry.
