RevComm Appoints Yasufumi Hirai as President and COO

In a significant organizational change slated for July 1, 2025, RevComm Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has announced the appointment of Yasufumi Hirai as its new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). This decision marks a strategic enhancement of the company's leadership, as it prepares for a dynamic shift in the AI and voice technology landscape.

Founded in 2017, RevComm has been committed to its mission of "reinventing communication to create a society where people care about one another." Through the innovative voice analysis AI, MiiTel, the company has established itself as a pioneer in transforming conversation data into actionable insights. Since the launch of MiiTel in October 2018, RevComm has consistently worked to eliminate the black box surrounding voice communications in business. The company has also introduced various advanced solutions, including MiiTel Meetings for web conferencing, MiiTel RecPod for face-to-face conversations, and MiiTel Call Center for customer support.

The year 2025 has been heralded as the dawn of AI agents, and RevComm aims to remain at the forefront of this revolution by solidifying its business framework. Hirai's extensive management experience in the IT sector is expected to play a crucial role in driving the company's growth amid dramatic changes in the voice AI and generative AI markets.

Yasufumi Hirai, who graduated in mathematics from Kyushu University in 1983, has an impressive track record. He began his career at IBM Japan, where he held various executive roles, including Assistant to the President and Manager of the Telecommunications Division. He also spent time at IBM's headquarters in New York, working on corporate strategy. After a stint at Microsoft Japan as a senior executive overseeing large corporate sales, Hirai led Cisco Systems Japan alongside other key positions. Most recently, he served as the Vice President and CIO/CISO of Rakuten Group for a decade, managing a global engineering team of 6,500.

Hirai has also held numerous influential roles outside of corporate leadership, including being a secretary general of the Keizai Doyukai and a visiting professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts.

In his statement regarding his new role, Hirai expressed his enthusiasm about joining RevComm under the leadership of President Takeshi Aida. He noted that with the practical implementation of multimodal AI in business transformation, the insights gleaned from voice conversations present enormous potential for value creation. "This is precisely why AI translates to 'Augmented Insights,' and I am excited about RevComm's Voice Data Lake management system. As a member of the executive leadership team, I aim to be a trusted partner for our clients, contributing to enhancing the company's value and achieving our mission of reinventing communication," Hirai stated.

RevComm continues to strive to enhance the value of its MiiTel brand and contribute to increased productivity across various enterprises. The company has received considerable recognition, being selected as the only Asian company in the "Forbes AI 50 2023" list and ranked first in Deloitte Tohmatsu Group's "Technology Fast 50 2022 Japan." The company was also honored with an innovation award in the AI category at CES® 2025.

RevComm remains dedicated to its vision of using voice technology and AI to address communication challenges in all environments, aiming for a future where meaningful conversations thrive.
