Tsujii Qunue: Rising Star at SONICMANIA
New solo artist Tsujii Qunue has made waves in the music scene, securing her spot at SONICMANIA after triumphing in an audition for the 2025 SUMMER SONIC festival. With a unique sound that blends electronic elements with J-Pop, she is rapidly gaining attention for her artistic vision and talent.
On July 1, 2026, Tsujii released her latest single, "Okaneganaikara" from her upcoming EP titled "Kisuiiki" which is set to drop on July 15. This song showcases her distinctive musical style, combining delicate sounds with memorable melodies. The song's title, while seemingly stark, juxtaposes a rich arrangement featuring light beats and string instruments, creating a beautifully balanced listening experience.
Alongside the audio release, Tsujii will unveil the music video for "Okaneganaikara" tonight at 21:00 on YouTube. This visual representation promises to capture the essence of the song, taking viewers deep into her artistic realm.
The forthcoming EP, "Kisuiiki" (meaning "brackish water"), will consist of six tracks, including previously released songs like "Pulse Wave", "27 Club", and a reworked version of "Last Summer Bye-bye". By exploring various genres such as electro, rock, and pop, Tsujii aims to express her unique vision throughout the EP. The CD is currently available for pre-order for just 2,000 yen, which includes exclusive merchandise for early buyers.
In an exciting development, Tsujii has announced her own event named "Senitai" (meaning "transition zone") scheduled for August 23, 2026, at the Ebisu KATA. This event will mark the third installment of a series that began in April and promises engaging performances from guest acts HUGEN and Plan2+.
