New Solutions for Rural Challenges: Call for Municipal Partnerships in Rural Impact Projects

In an effort to address the critical challenges faced by rural areas in Japan, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, along with the selection secretariat, has announced a bouquet of innovative solutions termed as "Rural Impact Creation Solutions." These initiatives were unveiled during the second symposium of the "Rural Economic and Living Environment Revitalization Platform" held on July 16. The program aims to generate significant social and environmental changes by addressing the unique issues that rural communities face.

Overview of the Initiative

From May 20 to June 23, applicants were invited to propose solutions that could catalyze positive impacts in rural areas. After thorough evaluation by a selection committee comprising experts and representatives from Ridilover Inc., 11 initiatives from various companies were chosen for implementation. The selected solutions will be supported with matching assistance between local governments and the respective companies as part of a concerted effort to realize these impactful solutions across the country.

The selected companies are encouraged to collaborate with three targeted regions for each solution during the support period, which is set to continue until the end of the fiscal year 2027.
