China Unicom and Huawei Launch AI-Powered Digital Inclusion Initiative at Summit

China Unicom and Huawei Launch 'AI Unites All'

On March 4, 2025, in Barcelona, Spain, a significant innovation summit titled 5G-A Empowering, AI Transforming, Digital Living took center stage, co-organized by China Unicom and Huawei. The event marked the unveiling of an ambitious initiative called AI Unites All, aimed at fostering digital inclusion in an increasingly intelligent world.

During the summit, Jian Qin, General Manager of the China Unicom Group, emphasized the company's commitment to technology innovation, stating, "China Unicom is dedicated to making technological innovation our guiding principle and actively embracing the AI revolution to help drive global intelligent transformation via 'Unicom Intelligence' and 'Unicom Solutions'."

His counterpart, Yang Chaobin, Director and CEO of Huawei's ICT Business Group, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with China Unicom on this groundbreaking strategy. He mentioned, "We look forward to partnering with China Unicom to support its 'AI Unites All' strategy by enabling a wide range of intelligent applications for users through cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies. This will help China Unicom create new AI service portals that have a significant global impact and make intelligence more accessible to everyone."

The Core of AI Unites All

China Unicom's 'AI Unites All' initiative aims to deliver an unprecedented intelligent experience for users. Central to this plan is Tone, an AI agent developed on the AI service platform. Tone acts as a digital twin for users, adeptly understanding their intents and seamlessly integrating multiple applications to fulfill individual and household needs. The platform facilitates effective aggregation with third-party models and applications, such as DeepSeek, enabling flexibility in business models.

Additionally, China Unicom is introducing the cloud phone as a crucial element of the AItoX portal, aimed at enhancing inclusive AI computing power. This device utilizes the Tone AI agent to provide users with a cloud-based digital lifestyle, covering aspects like privacy, security, entertainment, and office tools. In a noteworthy demonstration, during the recent Winter Asian Games held in Harbin, China Unicom rolled out customized cloud-based AI phones featuring personal AI assistants, thus offering users a compelling new intelligent experience.

Close Cooperation with Huawei

The summit highlighted Huawei's intent to work closely with China Unicom to develop an AI service platform named the CH converged agent. This project's goal is to leverage artificial intelligence agents to modernize home cloud computing and accelerate the incubation of innovative AI services, leading to a comprehensive convergence of AI across personal and household scenarios.

The platform strives for unification in four key aspects:
1. An unified architecture that aggregates and distributes capabilities efficiently across the network to deliver AI services.
2. A unified experience that supports converging AI services across devices and applications.
3. An AI-network unification that integrates AI services with operator networks to enhance service experiences.
4. Data unification that allows the integration of household scenario data, using intelligent data algorithms to personalize high-quality services for individuals and families.

Conclusion

The launch of the AI Unites All plan demonstrates China Unicom's in-depth planning and innovative practices in artificial intelligence aimed at fostering digital inclusion in an intelligent world. As both companies together shape the future of interconnected living, they signify a monumental shift towards making advanced technology accessible for everyone.
