Huawei's ICNMaster MDAF Paves the Way for L4 Autonomous Networks
Huawei's ICNMaster MDAF: A New Era for Centralized Network Operations
In the modern digital age, the functionality of our daily lives and economic activities is heavily reliant on network stability. As the backbone of telecommunication systems, core networks influence millions of users globally, where any service disruption could bear significant consequences for society. Given the increasing complexity of networks today, traditional operational and maintenance (O&M) methods are no longer adequate. Thus, L4 Autonomous Networks (AN) are emerging as the essential path forward.
A Milestone Year: 2025 and L4 Implementation
The year 2025 marked a significant milestone in the commercialization of L4 Autonomous Networks. The TM Forum, alongside industry partners, released the seventh edition of the Autonomous Network White Paper, outlining key implementation milestones, requisite technologies, and solution packages tailored for L4. This document has provided global operators with a comprehensive guide for deploying L4 solutions. By now, leading operators from around the world have unveiled their strategic plans and objectives for transitioning to L4, with continued high stability evaluations of core networks reaching consensus within the industry. Notably, six operators have already achieved official certification from the TM Forum based on these stability criteria.
Huawei's ICNMaster MDAF: A Leap Toward Enhanced Efficiency
Over the past year, Huawei's ICNMaster MDAF has concentrated on delivering stability and operational efficiency. The technology introduced the first industry hybrid architecture known as the Model Mix (MoM), designed to optimize accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, intelligent agents have been developed for handling fault management and complaints, facilitating automation based on specific scenarios. After a year of dedicated development, the MDAF has successfully integrated into the networks of 14 prominent operators worldwide. This has led to remarkable improvements in operational and maintenance efficiencies, reduced service recovery times, and enhanced experiences for O&M personnel.
Looking Ahead to 2026 and Beyond
As we move into 2026, Huawei's ICNMaster MDAF is poised to continue its innovative trajectory and industry leadership. A new L4 solution will be introduced to address the most pressing challenges faced by telecom operators. Working alongside global customers and partners, Huawei aims to advance the AN industry and high-stability evaluation standards, assisting operators worldwide in achieving efficient O&M processes and robust network stability, serving as a key step towards the full realization of Autonomous Networks L4. We eagerly anticipate collaborative efforts to further these ambitions!
