SEI and Phillies Launch Mural Contest
In an exciting collaboration, SEI Investments Company and the Philadelphia Phillies have unveiled plans for the second consecutive year to kick off a mural contest focused on the theme of 'Connecting Communities.' This initiative aims to enhance the vibrant atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park, notorious for its energetic sports spirit.
The organizations are calling for submissions from local mural artists, encouraging them to showcase the rich culture and community spirit of the Philadelphia region through their artwork. The selected mural will be prominently displayed above Ashburn Alley during the upcoming 2025 Major League Baseball season.
Contest Details
Artists interested in participating can submit their concepts that embody the spirit of connection—highlighting how art can bring people together just as sports do. The winning artist stands to gain not only the recognition of showcasing their art in a high-traffic location but will also receive:
- - A $10,000 cash prize upon completion of the mural.
- - The opportunity to be featured in promotional activities, shedding light on their background and the inspiration that fueled their creative process.
- - An invite to a mural unveiling event at Citizens Bank Park, highlighted by recognition on the field during a Phillies home game.
Additionally, the contest recognizes the two runners-up with invitations to attend a game, promoting inclusivity and local talent. This year, SEI will also ensure that all submitted murals are considered for display at their corporate headquarters in Oaks following the MLB season.
Commitment to the Community
Leslie Wojcik, SEI's Head of Global Communications, expressed the importance of community bonds, stating, "True change begins when we strengthen the bonds of our community. At the core of our partnership with the Phillies is a shared commitment to building the connections that affect positive change—and art brings people together in the same way sports do."
Jackie Cuddeback, Senior VP of Partnership Sales and Corporate Marketing at the Phillies, echoed this sentiment: "This mural at our ballpark is more than just art; it's a bridge that unites fans from all walks of life, blending diverse communities with a shared love for the game, a common spirit of pride in our great city, and a sense of belonging."
The last year's contest was won by artist Jose 'Busta' Bustamante, who beautifully depicted a young boy and girl, symbolizing the next generation of baseball enthusiasts.
