FORVAL Secures A Contract for DX Accelerator

FORVAL, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, led by President Masanori Nakajima, has successfully secured a contract for the 24DX Accelerator22, an initiative aimed at aiding digital transformation (DX) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Saga Prefecture. This marks the fourth consecutive year that FORVAL has been entrusted with this significant project, which is undertaken by the Saga Industry Promotion Foundation under the RYO-FU BASE.

The purpose of the DX Accelerator is to facilitate the advancement of DX among SMEs in Saga, responding to the urgent need for operational streamlining and management problem resolution within the region. With the rapid acceleration of DX across various industries, many local businesses face challenges in identifying effective strategies for implementing this transformation. Furthermore, there has been considerable demand for local case studies to provide guidance on successful DX initiatives.

Acknowledging this situation, Saga Prefecture initiated this project in FY2022, focusing on back-office DX support to enhance operational efficiency. Since the transfer of the initiative to RYO-FU BASE in August FY2023, the project has evolved to directly assist companies in implementing DX strategies that lead to increased profits.

FORVAL aims to work closely with local businesses to identify and address their management challenges. This collaborative effort is designed to develop management strategies that enable these businesses to engage in independent DX advancement, creating a self-sustaining process.

Projects and Support Structure

FORVAL outlines the following objectives and activities as part of this initiative:
1. Support for Selecting Beneficiary Companies: Establishing a framework that helps participating businesses recognize their challenges and take their first steps towards DX.
2. Ongoing Support for Businesses: Providing guidance tailored to individual dynamics, helping businesses navigate their initial DX efforts.
3. Case Study Development: Documenting successful examples to promote wider dissemination among other companies.
4. Management and Coordination: Handling necessary administrative tasks while fostering collaboration between various stakeholders.
5. Promotional Assistance: Supporting the RYO-FU BASE and the Smartization Center in broadening its outreach efforts.
6. Comprehensive Project Execution: Undertaking all operations vital for the success of the initiative.

In selecting participating companies, FORVAL has reached out to approximately 65 local businesses identified during previous DX initiatives and through partnerships with the Karatsu Innovation Center. Through a series of engaging workshops and informative seminars, businesses are encouraged to recognize and prioritize their specific issues. This process includes personal interviews, which help solidify a common understanding of the steps needed for DX certification and the integration of these strategies into their overarching management goals.

Forward-Looking Remarks from RYO-FU BASE

RYO-FU BASE has positioned DX as a key means for resolving management problems faced by local enterprises. This year, the focus is on fostering an environment where businesses can independently pursue DX initiatives, leading to continual transformation. The commitment to facilitate aggressive DX strategies is aimed at boosting sales and creating innovative services, with hopes that many companies will recognize tangible results and take their next pivotal steps forward.
