Exciting Changes to Tokyo Skytree Admission Starting April 1, 2026

Changes to Tokyo Skytree Admission from April 1, 2026

The Tokyo Skytree, an iconic landmark, will introduce a new system for admission starting April 1, 2026. Operated by Tobu Tower Skytree, this update aims to improve convenience for visitors and enhance their overall experience.

1. Direct Entry with Web Purchases

As of the new admission process, customers who purchase tickets through the website or other online platforms will now be able to enter directly using the generated QR code. Previously, visitors were required to exchange their online tickets for paper ones at the ticket counter before proceeding to the entry gate. With the new system, this step is eliminated, making the entry process significantly quicker and more streamlined.

2. Enhanced Flow for Visitors

Accompanying the new direct entry process, the entrance pathways located on the fourth floor of Tokyo Skytree will also see changes. The North Entrance will be opened continuously, allowing guests to come and go freely from various entrances. Additionally, the ticket counter will be relocated from the west side, closer to the entry gates, to the east side. These adjustments aim to ensure a smoother and more comfortable experience for all visitors.

3. Creative Displays Before the Tembo Shuttle

To heighten anticipation for the views from the observation deck, a new artistic display will be launched at the Tembo Shuttle (the elevator to the observation deck). The wall preceding the shuttle will feature projections from seven projectors, showcasing four types of content, such as information about Tokyo Skytree, scenic views visible from the observation deck, fascinating trivia about the tower, and aspects of Japanese culture related to it. This engaging display, projected across approximately 43 meters in width and 3 meters in height, will vary its content based on the crowd's traffic, adding excitement before arriving at the observation deck.
