Bizmates Signs Sponsorship Deal with Angkor Tiger FC Coach to Support Global Challenges

Bizmates and Angkor Tiger FC: A Game-Changing Partnership

On November 11, 2025, the Japanese online language service Bizmates, known for its business-focused English lessons, announced a pivotal sponsorship with Sotarou Yasunaga, the head coach of Cambodia's Angkor Tiger FC, a professional football club based in Siem Reap. This initiative is a reflection of Bizmates' mission to empower more business professionals to excel on the global stage.

A Vision Beyond Borders

Yasunaga, a former J-League player and an experienced coach, represents the spirit of challenge that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries. Under this sponsorship, Bizmates will provide continuous support aimed at enhancing Yasunaga's English communication skills, ensuring he can excel in the multicultural environment of Cambodia’s football scene.

The customized support package includes access to Bizmates' online English lessons, coaching services tailored by Japanese consultants, and the Bizmates App for learning English in bite-sized lessons. These resources are strategically designed to improve the essential communication skills required for effective team management and operation in diverse settings.

Tailored Approach to Learning

Bizmates employs a unique “Assist Lessons” approach, which allows the curriculum to be customized to meet the individual needs of each participant. This flexibility means that lessons can focus on practical English expressions and skills vital for coaching duties, such as team discussions, player interviews, and staff coordination. By targeting these specific areas, Bizmates aims to empower Yasunaga in his role as a leader of the Angkor Tiger FC.

Support for Global Challengers

In his statement, the CEO of Bizmates, Nobuaki Suzuki, expressed pride in the partnership, aligning the motto of Bizmates—“Learning supports challenges, and challenges generate growth”—with Yasunaga’s endeavors. He highlighted the complexities of guiding individuals in multicultural environments and emphasized the honor of being able to support Yasunaga during this transformative journey.

Conversely, Yasunaga acknowledged the daily learnings and challenges he faces while managing a team in an unfamiliar cultural landscape. He expressed gratitude for the essential support from Bizmates, which has helped him gain competency in functional English that is instrumental for his coaching role.

Showcasing the Journey

To further engage audiences, a special discussion between Bizmates director Hika Ito and Yasunaga has been made available on YouTube. This conversation dives deep into Yasunaga's journey, articulating his thoughts on learning and the ongoing challenges as a leader confronting the nuances of a different culture.

Yasunaga's Background

Born in 1976 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Yasunaga launched his professional career at Yokohama Marinos (now Yokohama F. Marinos) and went on to play for multiple clubs, including Shimizu S-Pulse and Kashiwa Reysol. Notably, in 1997, he became the first Japanese player to join a Spanish league, marking a significant milestone in his career. After retiring as a player, he transitioned into coaching roles, successfully managing Japan's cerebral palsy seven-a-side national team and SC Sagamihara before taking the reins at Angkor Tiger FC in July 2025.
