Holiday Season Delights at InterContinental Tokyo Bay
As autumn leaves begin to fall, the festive spirit is set to rise at the InterContinental Tokyo Bay. Under the guidance of Executive Pastry Chef Shoya Nagai, the hotel has announced the commencement of pre-orders for its much-anticipated "Christmas Cake & Sweets Collection 2026" starting September 1.
The collection this year is themed around the idea of an "Ornament Gallery," offering an impressive array of desserts that will surely delight and inspire the holiday celebrations. Among the standout creations are three new cakes, each meticulously crafted with unique flavors. First up is the "Oeuvre de Neige," a frosty delicacy that skillfully combines smooth mousse with the tangy essence of strawberries, creating a harmonious blend that captures the essence of winter.
The "Maple Noel" is a luxurious mille-feuille layered with rich maple syrup, crunchy pecans, and dark chocolate, bringing a delightful balance of flavors that dance on your palate. Lastly, the "Marron Tiramisu" presents a decadent twist, merging the beloved tastes of Mont Blanc and tiramisu into a single imaginative masterpiece that balances creaminess and crunch exquisitely.
In addition to these stunning cakes, the collection will also include a classic shortcake available in two sizes, catering to different gifting and sharing occasions during the festive season.
Among the highlights is a limited-edition special cake titled "Play & Seek," designed for those looking to make a statement. This whimsical creation depicts a chocolate house situated in a garden of apple pie, where cheerful snowmen engage in a play of hide-and-seek. The cake features an array of flavors—ten in total—housed in chocolate tiles, with a delightful surprise of strawberry shortcake tucked inside. This vibrant arrangement promises to be a visually stunning centerpiece for any holiday gathering.
This year also marks the debut of the traditional Italian Christmas cake, "Panettone." Prepared using homemade natural yeast cultivated from Yamanashi’s Shine Muscat grapes, this cake offers a rich texture full of hazelnut and chocolate notes, complemented by a refreshing hint of orange zest. It joins the hotel’s well-loved stollen, as well as three exclusive Christmas gift sets featuring original baked goods and quality tea, making them perfect gifts for loved ones.
